Jacopo Gonzato is a designer who seeks to redefine the rules of sound diffusion through the use of geometry and materials.
A designer and architect from Vicenza, Gonzato delves into the world of sound waves beginning with the shapes of Platonic solids, continuing with a cross-disciplinary investigation into harmonic forms—a path that is deeply design-oriented, experimental, and innovative. These are harmonies that might be called magical: emptiness takes shape according to harmonic proportions, and sound materializes within structures conceived to make the source of emission seem to vanish. Through observation, study, and an exploration of vibration and sound propagation, Gonzato creates: handcrafted and industrial design objects, architectural elements, and actual architectural spaces.
A key part of his work lies in bridging the fracture between the visual and the auditory, between light and sound—juxtaposing and integrating harmonies, geometries, and proportions from both history and the future. As a result of this research, Gonzato’s works resemble musical instruments more than mere containers or diffusers of sound. His design seeks to challenge the established aesthetic of such objects and to create finely tuned soundscapes that raise awareness of the emotional dimension of sound, beyond simple comfort. Since 2022, he has been a resident artist at the Rossana Orlandi Gallery in Milan.

“What would a cube sound like? What would a pyramid sound like? What would the golden ratio sound like?”
After earning a double degree in Architecture from IUAV University of Venice and the Pontificia Universidad Católica de Chile, Jacopo Gonzato founded Boccaccio432 in 2019, with the aim of overseeing style, creative direction, and visual storytelling for companies in the fields of interior and furniture design. His academic and professional background, combined with a profound interest in sound, led to the development of the Sound Geometry project.
Gonzato has showcased his work at numerous prestigious national and international exhibitions and events, including: Nomad (St. Moritz 2023, 2024, and 2025; Capri 2024), Homo Faber (Venice 2024), RoCollectible (2022, 2023, 2024), La Proporzione Aurea (Vicenza 2023). His project and research have been featured in prominent publications such as La Proporzione Aurea: A Journey Through Emotions, Harmony, and Knowledge (Mondadori), as well as in leading international media.
